I have always been passionate about learning. I consider myself to be an eternal student of life. Exploring the nature of life, love, health, happiness, and everything in between.
Fortunately, when I became ill with fibromyalgia and severe fatigue, this drive to be open-minded, to explore and learn new things, played an essential part in my recovery. Not only did I become well again, but being ill motivated me to explore many of the beliefs and assumptions that I had previously held.
So I set out on a journey of discovery to find out what would help me to become well. Perhaps the most important thing I learnt was that I am the only person who has my own experience. That nobody else can tell you what is best for you because they are never able to experience life through your perspective. Whilst it can be helpful to learn from others experiences, life is ultimately a process of self awareness, of learning to trust your own inner judgement, intuition and wisdom. To let go of external conditioning, and to embrace an authentic life.
Once I had fully regained my health, I continued to explore the aspects of life which I seemed to cause so much confusion of thought. In studying philosophy, I gained a huge amount of clarity about so many aspects of life, especially as they relate to health and well-being. I began to understand the fundamental differences in approaching life and health which exist in different cultures. Personally, I found that Eastern approaches to the nature of mind/body, as found in traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism, was the most effective way of moving beyond the trauma I had experienced, and of moving through life with ease. It was a deep transformation on both a personal and spiritual level.
I now help other people who may be experiencing similar challenges to those which I went through. My intention is to offer support, insight, and guidance for those people who are seeking it. To create an environment which facilitates self-empowerment and true acceptance, even in the most challenging of circumstances. To offer non-judgemental support, guidance, and practical steps which will nurture well-being of mind, body, and soul.
